FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions:
How do we determine if our team is recreational? Recreational squads are not from a commercial gym or particular school. Recreational cheer squads must be affiliated with a recreational team(s). Some recreational squads are made up of several grades and ages. These would be averaged when determining the age or grade to be entered.
How do we determine between select and non-select? Select means there are tryouts; non-select do not hold tryouts. Some recreational teams may have an “allstar rec team” which is made up of their best cheerleaders. These would be select.
How do we determine our age category if we have several grades? You should average the ages or grades (drop the decimal).
When and how will we be notified of the schedule and times for the event? We will notify the coaches approximately 10 days prior to the competition.
Are we permitted to enter our team more than once? Your team may enter a cheer category and also enter the dance category. The dance category includes hip hop, pom and jazz. Your team may enter one or all three of the dance categories.
How can ECO help us in fundraising? If your squad wants to host a competition at your school, we will bring our staff and present the competition for you. You will be given 10% of all the entry fees. We will advertise on our webpage and handle all of the paperwork. We will also provide all the trophies and awards. All you would be responsible for is supplying the venue and helping to promote by word-of-mouth. It’s an easy fund raiser for your team.
